
I was reading an update from a friend in Africa. She described a river boat ride where she saw a myriad of exotic creatures. "We never see any wild life here . . ." I was replying when I remembered this creature. He looks like a grasshopper without the wings but was the size of a man's palm. Let us know if you have a name for this guy.

"Wow, He's huge. It looks like a Mormon Cricket. It is certainly a member of the Long-Horned Grasshoppers and Katydid family (Tettigoniidae) and probably of the genus Anabrus. Most are plant feeding but few prey on other insects."
