Anyone know what this is??

I was reading an update from a friend in Africa. She described a river boat ride where she saw a myriad of exotic creatures. "We never see any wild life here . . ." I was replying when I remembered this creature. He looks like a grasshopper without the wings but was the size of a man's palm. Let us know if you have a name for this guy.
Here is what a bug-guy & friend, Dan Omdal, had to say:
"Wow, He's huge. It looks like a Mormon Cricket. It is certainly a member of the Long-Horned Grasshoppers and Katydid family (Tettigoniidae) and probably of the genus Anabrus. Most are plant feeding but few prey on other insects."

Beading

Thank you for donating beads. We had our first beading session this afternoon. Glittering new earrings were modeled before a mirror reflecting giant smiles. It took a while to get used to the tools but we all agreed it was FUN! Without your gifts there would have been no beads to work with. Couldn't have done it without you!
